Caleb turns three!

Caleb is three years old!
(from notes written to Caleb in his journal)
Grandma wrote "Thank you for coming to our family and for teaching us what it feels like to be around a celestial son of God." Grandpa said "You have been a special gift from Heavenly Father. You are a precious part of our family and I am honored to be your grandpa."
Some of my little brothers and sisters wrote "Thank you for your sweet spirit. When I am with you I feel so calm and close to heaven." "Your spirit helps me and so many others to feel close to Heavenly Father. You have inspired me to be a better person and appreciate the joys of life." "Thank you for bringing me such happiness."

Caleb graduated from Kids on the Move! He had such special people work with him, and we will really miss them.

Caleb got a new wheelchair stroller! It seems like it will support him better and help him be more upright.

(From my journal) Dear Caleb, you have been under the weather for a lot of the winter. You had a 24 hour stay in the hospital a few weeks ago to have a PH probe down your throat to test for reflux. Daddy went with you this time because Mitchell is still too small for me to leave over night. It was so hard to watch Dad drive away with you because we are always together. I just cried and cried that night because I wanted to be with you. My heart is wrapped around you so tightly! I was so happy to have you home! I could hardly bear to walk by your empty crib while you were gone. I sure have a tender heart for you! I'm so happy we get to have our 3rd Christmas with you! What more could I wish for? I hope someday I can thank you for your courage, patience and unconditional love. I love you with all my heart.

Caleb is able to sit in his high chair if we have it reclined back as far as it will go!

It's autumn time, the leaves are falling down...
(from my journal) Dear Caleb, It was general conference this weekend and you were so alert! You were quite awake for the whole day! I just love seeing your spirit shine out of your beautiful blue eye! You were so responsive this weekend and loved it when I sang to you and wiggled your arms and legs for you. I can't even look at you without my heart wanting to jump right out of my body!

How can we resist such a sweet little face?

Caleb was a spooky spider this year for Halloween!

We attended a fall party provided by our vision specialist and the school for deaf and blind. Caleb got to feel pumpkins, corn and other interesting fall textures!

Every Fall we visit the grave of Caleb's cousin, Adi's. She was stillborn, so we never had the chance to know her on the earth, but we look forward to the day when we get to see her again. There is such a sweet spirit there.... We think she and Caleb are special friends.

Caleb had a pretty healthy summer. He enjoyed outings with the family and loved being surrounded by his brothers all day.

***In July we took our first over night trip since Caleb was born! Dallan's youngest brother Derek was married in Boise Idaho, and we didn't want to miss such a special day! (from my journal) Dear Caleb, We took you on your first over-night adventure! You didn't like the 6 hour car ride, and you really struggled the first night in our hotel. After that you seemed to settle down. The whole family really enjoyed seeing you and were amazed at how you'd grown! We had to pack so much stuff to take you on a trip, but it was a fun family adventure with all of us together. You are so patient with us. I love sharing you with others knowing that even catching a glimpse of your noble spirit can be life changing. You have changed my life forever.

Caleb knows how to "chill out.."

Mitchell loves to be by Caleb! As soon as I'm not watching, he pulls out his feeding tube!

Glimpses of Heaven...

Caleb and Mitchell are becoming good buddies.
